Hello, still love my Berry Theme. One question though. In the last versions of Berry theme, the icon for the “RSS feed” in my social menu has been replaced by a “share” icon. This can be misleading for my visitors.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting us.

Please try adding ” / ” at the end of the RSS feed link in the social menu. Please watch this screencast video: https://d.pr/v/xp2wHz .

If this doesn’t work, could you please provide your website URL so that we can further check the problem for you? You can leave your website URL on the comments page or email it to general@loftocean.com . Thanks.

Best regards,

The Loft.Ocean Team

With the slash at the end, it works all fine. Thank you

Thank you for your feedback. :)

Would like to have more than 3 feature boxes on the homepage. Please consider that on future updates

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

To add this feature, some code needs to be added and modified. Just confirmed with the development team that this feature will be included in the next update of the theme.

If you’d like to get this new feature before we release the next update, please let us know and email your website URL and a temporary administrator login credential to general@loftocean.com so that our developers can add it to your website.

Thank you very much.

Best regards,

The Loft.Ocean Team

Got it. Thank you!

You are welcome! :)

Hello. Love the theme. I can’t find where to change the H1 font. Specifically, H1 on the category page. Link below. I want Recipes/Food to be smaller. https://lorisummers.com/category/recipes/

Thanks

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us. :)

To change the H1 font size on the category page, please add the following CSS to your website (via the “Customizer” > “Additional CSS” section):

@media screen and (min-width: 737px) {
    .page-header.large h1.page-title {
        font-size: 48px;
    }
}

To make sure you get the correct CSS code, please refer to this screenshot: https://d.pr/i/hFq7Md . (If you read this comment in email instead of on the ThemeForest comment page, you may see the CSS code wrapped in ”< pre >”. The ”< pre >” code are only used to display the CSS code correctly on the comment page. When copying CSS code, please do not copy them. )

After adding custom CSS code, if you cannot see changes on the front-end, please clear your website cache (if you are using any cache/performance optimization plugins) and also clear the browser cache, then refresh your pages to check again.

Thank you very much.

purchased theme from themefrost website

Hi Stacy,

Thank you for contacting us. We are very sorry for the problem you encountered.

Thank you very much for purchasing TinySalt and Berry. We totally understand that you will feel unpleasant and frustrated when you encounter problems when using a product. Could you allow us provide help for you, please?

In fact, there may be many reasons why a WordPress website crashes: updating WordPress, updating plugins or themes, installing plugins or themes, or even modifying simple settings on the website … Sometimes, this is due to conflicts between two plugins, or it is caused by the conflict between the theme and a plugin. Sometimes this is only a temporary error: users only need to delete the plugin that was just uploaded or updated via FTP, and then reinstall it, the problem will not reappear.

So far we have not received the same or similar problem reports from other users. And we just installed the Berry theme on our test site and uploaded WooCommerce, and the plugin was successfully installed without any problems.

Thank you for providing your website URL. In order to find the exact cause of the problem you encountered and to help you install WooCommerce, could you provide the following information so that we can look into the problem for you, please?

1. Please create a temporary admin account for us and let us log into your site to check your site environment and settings, and install WooCommerce for you. Because every user might have a different site environment, this would be the best method to find out the exact cause of the problem. (You can use this plugin to create a Temporary Login Without Password: https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/ .)

2. Please also provide your FTP credentials so that we can check the error log of your website and modify the theme code if needed.

Please email these details to general@loftocean.com .

Looking forward to your reply. Thank you very much.

Hi I am sorry I had to remove the theme no matter what I did or the host the site kept crashing and other issues. I don’t have these issues with Tinysalt theme though. I paid more money for the Berry theme and was disappointed. I need to get a refund on that theme because Now I can not ever use it at any time. Regardless whether or not someone else or you have never had issues I however did and they were major and upsetting issues and cost me 24 hours to fix them all. Thank you for your understanding. If you do not give a refund I will have to file a claim.

Hi Stacy,

Thank you for your reply.

Regarding the refund, all refunds are processed by Envato as they handle all the payments and distributions. The terms and conditions for refunds are set out by Envato exclusively, and every author must follow the rules: https://themeforest.net/page/customer_refund_policy .

So far, we do not know exactly what caused the problem you encountered. We want to help you find the exact cause of the problem. But you refused. Therefore, we are very sorry, in this case, your situation does not comply with the refund policy.

These rules are the same for every author and every buyer and we cannot change them selectively. Thank you for understanding.

But if you believe that your request was within the scope of support and we failed to fix the issue, you can submit a refund request here: https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/requests/new .

However we will not approve it due to lack of a valid reason for it. If you don’t agree with our decision, you can then raise a dispute and have Envato investigate the matter.

Thank you very much.

Hi, how could I remove the shopping cart icon from the menu? Thanks!

Hi,

Thank you for contacting us.

The cart icon shows in the menu bar because your website is using WooCommerce plugin (which is for creating online store).

Situation #1 – If you don’t need this plugin, please just deactivate it. The cart icon will disappear.

On your site dashboard, please go to “Plugins” > “Active” > Then find “WooCommerce”, and click “Deactivate” link. Please see this screenshot: https://d.pr/free/i/AnExzs .

Situation #2 – If you need to use this plugin and just want to hide the cart icon, please add the following custom CSS to your site (via Customizer > “Additional CSS” section) to hide the cart icon:

.site-header #site-header-cart {
    display: none !important;
}

If you read this comment in email instead of on the ThemeForest comment page, you may see the CSS code wrapped in ”< pre >”. The ”< pre >” code are only used to display the CSS code correctly on the comment page. When copying CSS code, please do not copy them. To make sure you get the correct CSS code, please refer to this screenshot: https://d.pr/free/i/gLTAnv .

After adding custom CSS code, if you cannot see changes on the front-end, please clear your site cache and your browser cache, then refresh your pages to check the results.

Thank you very much.

Thanks! #1 worked.

Great! Thank you for your reply. :)

Oops, I have another question.

I try to display the “Sub-categories” when we are on the archive pages. But, as I added images to my categories, the subcategories are one below the other. Not so good. When I check the items, it says “Missing argument 1 for esc_url(), called in /public_html/DeliceCeleste/wp-content/themes/berry/template-parts/category/sub-category-list.php on line 13 and defined in /public_html/DeliceCeleste/wp-includes/formatting.php”.

Looking at the style of the elements, I notice that this text is in “size: 0”, so I do not see it on my page but I think it is he who makes this shift. I think that’s the case with other people.

One of my archive pages : http://www.delice-celeste.com/cuisine/sucre/

Any idea ?

Hello,

Thank you for reporting this issue to us, and we apologize for the problem you encountered.

We checked the theme code and found that it was caused by a PHP problem. We just uploaded an update (Berry v1.6.1) to resolve this issue.

Please update the Berry theme to the latest version on your website, clear your website cache and browser cache, and then check if this issue has been resolved.

If you use the “Envato Market” plugin for theme updates: Since the “Envato Market” plugin will check for updates periodically, if you do not see the theme update notification on the WordPress dashboard, you may need to wait a while.

If you have any questions, please feel free to let us know. Thank you very much.

Thank you !

Hello. I can no longer customize the categories by adding an image. Do you know why ? Is this a mistake with the theme? Before I could, so I have categories with image but I cannot modify them.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us.

Could you please follow the steps below to check if the problem can be resolved:

Step 1 – Please make sure your Berry theme is the latest version. The latest version is 1.6 (released on 3 May 2020). You may like to check the documentation for the details about “How to update the Berry theme” ( http://www.loftocean.com/berry-doc/documentation.html#update ).

Step 2 – After updating the theme, please also update the required plugin “Berry Extension” to the latest version to ensure the maximum compatibility with the theme. Please check the documentation: “How to update the required plugin Berry Extension” ( https://www.loftocean.com/berry/start/having-some-problems-after-updating-the-theme/#required-plugin ).

Step 3 – After updating the required plugin, please make sure it is activated.

Step 4 – Clear your site cache and your browser cache, then refresh your pages to check the results.

Please feel free to let us know if this can resolve the problem. Thank you very much.

Hello ! It works ! Thank you. I had updated the theme but not the extension (Wordpress did not warn me). Now it’s done! Thank you for your help, you are the best!

Hello,

Glad to know it works! :) Thank you very much for your kind feedback~

Hi, I purchased your theme, it’s beautiful! I was wondering, can you please check my homepage? When I click on the logo I can see my three featured boxes that relate to my pages but I can’t seem to link it to my homepage… And how do I create more featured boxes and no (old) posts (only pagelinks) on my homepage? Hope to hear from you, thanks!

Hi,

Thank you for contacting us.

Sorry, we are a little confused about your questions. Could you please provide more detailed information about your questions? Please see below:

1. Please send us your website URL so that we take a look at your homepage.

2. What do you want to link to your homepage? The logo? If you mean the logo, the logo is automatically linked to your homepage, so no additional settings are required. If you are not referring to the logo, please let us know which element you are referring to. You can take some screenshots to indicate the element you mentioned.

3. Currently the theme only supports adding up to 3 featured boxes on the homepage. And do you mean that you don’t want to display posts on your homepage?

For better communication, please send these information via email to general@loftocean.com .

Looking forward to your reply. Thank you very much.

Hi, we use the slider but in the mobile view the white box inside of the slider image is to big to see the actual slider image. Is there a chance to remove the box with the slider title etc.?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting us.

Yes, the box with the slider title (and other meta in the box) can be removed by adding simple custom CSS code. We can help with that.

Since there is no “Purchased” label next to your username, and the support service is only available to our customers, could you please email us your purchase code? So we can verify your license and send you the custom CSS code via email. Please email your purchase code to general@loftocean.com .

You may like to read this article to know where to find the purchase code: https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/202822600-Where-Is-My-Purchase-Code- .

hello,

I did the update. IG is not working anymore and the link for pixelunion generate token is outdated !

https://support.pixelunion.net/hc/en-us/articles/360041460554-Important-notice-Instagram-feed-removal

how can do ?

Thanks

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us.

Normally, you don’t need to add Instagram access token to display Instagram feed on your website. However, in rare cases, there may be a connection problem between the user’s website and Instagram, so an Instagram access token is required to use the Instagram API to obtain photos from Instagram. But Instagram recently made changes to the old API, and this change affects those users who need access tokens.

Please don’t worry, we already found a solution for this situation. Please email the following information to general@loftocean.com and we will assist you.

1. Please send us your website URL.

2. Please create a temporary administrator account for us and let us log into your website. You can use this plugin to create a self-expiring login link without password: https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/ .

3. Please also provide us with your FTP login credentials so that we can modify theme code in a safe way.

By the way, since we may be in different time zones, it is late in our timezone and we are about to get off work. Please email us your login credentials and we will help you as soon as possible during our working hours tomorrow.

Looking forward to your reply. Thank you very much.

2nd: I use in the Customizer the Instagram Feed in the Footer, but since the new Theme Version 1.5 it doesn`t work also the Instagram Settings in the Customizer. I don`t have an Instagram Token. I read there is no Support for it, since today…

Thanks for support.

Hello, I would like to purchase this theme, howhever I have two questions about it: -are any visual composers like gutenberg, elementor or bakery pagebuilder? -Is it possible to put a section or just a few square boxes in the homepage to show some products from the shop? Like in this theme https://demo.themeftc.com/dove/home7/ -Is it possible to put a row of products below a blog post? Thank you

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in our theme :) . Please see the answers below:

1. There is no any third-party page builder plugin is included in the package when you download the theme. Berry theme does not rely on any page builder functionality. You can use Gutenberg editor, which is the default drag and drop editor of WordPress (since WordPress 5.0).

2. Sorry, but Berry theme does not support adding products to the homepage like the theme you mentioned, nor does it support adding a row of products below a blog post.

Since the Berry theme is a personal blog theme, it currently only supports the default features provided by the WooCommerce plugin. And the theme you mentioned is a WooCommerce theme, this type of themes include more shop-related features in addition to the default features of the WooCommerce plugin.

Thank you very much.

Hello,

I use the featured box items on a multilinguage website. With your help I have been able to translate the string chain so that the name of each featured box appears in the right language in my french and in my german version. But now my problem is , that I cannot do the same with the link associated to the box. This is a problem for me. To the featured boxes in french I want to associate a link a to french page of my website. To the featured box in german I want to associate a link to a german page of my website. But I currently I can’t because I can set only one link and not several depending on the language(or maybe I haven’t found how to and it is possible). Do you have any solution for this?

Best Regards,

Hello Mylene,

Please follow the guidelines below to update the content of the “wpml-config.xml” file:

1. Please find the “wpml-config.xml” file in the “berry” theme folder. Open it in a text editor.

2. Then, please copy and paste the following code into this file to replace the old content.

<wpml-config>
    <admin-texts>
        <key name="theme_mods_berry">
            <key name="berry_readmore" />
            <key name="berry_instagram_title" />
            <key name="berry_related_title" />
            <key name="berry_footer_text"/>
            <key name="berry_featured_box_1_title" />
            <key name="berry_featured_box_1_link" />
            <key name="berry_featured_box_2_title" />
            <key name="berry_featured_box_2_link" />
            <key name="berry_featured_box_3_title" />
            <key name="berry_featured_box_3_link" />
        </key>
    </admin-texts>
</wpml-config>

To make sure you enter the correct code, please check this screenshot for reference: https://d.pr/free/i/eBjVlK .

3. Save the changes. And upload the updated “wpml-config.xml” file to your website to replace the old file.

Then the links of featured boxes can be “translated”. You can enter different URLs for different languages.

Thank you very much.

Thank you. It works all fine.

Thank you for your feedback. :)

Feature: I’m using Berry 1.5. Currently on my blog, I can see that the name of all published pages is also displayed in the footer area in alphabetic order. I haven’t seen the possiblity to manage their appearance in the footer (hide some of the published pages name from the footer area, change the order of page names appearance, or add a title above the pages names). Is it foreseen to add the handling of page names in the footer in future versions?

Hi Mylene,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We have added this feature into our “Feature request list” and will consider adding a footer menu in a future update of Berry theme (the priority of adding features will depend the number of same/similar feature requests we receive).

Thank you for bringing this up. :)

Please feel free to let us know if you need our help. Thanks!

FYI: It was an issue with the social menu. When enabling the social icon at the footer, it was displaying the pages of my site instead, and this because the social menu location field was empty in the menu customization. Changing this, made the “feature” disappear for good.

Hi Mylene,

Thank you very much for sharing the information with us.

We just checked again. If the social menu location field is empty and the social menu is activated in site footer, then in the footer it should not display any menu content.

We did not check your site and database. Based on the existing clues, we guess this is the most likely cause:

If you have previously installed and used other themes on your site, some data may remain in the database after you switch themes. This social menu location appears to be empty, but in fact, there may still be data in the database. After changing the related options (such as assigning a menu to the social menu location), the data will be rewritten, the previous data will no longer exist and the problem will be resolved.

Best regards,

The Loft.Ocean Team

Hello,

I’m using the Berry version 1.5 and it’s a really nice product. Nevertheless currently I have an issue with string translation for my multilanguage website. The strings berry_readmore , berry_related_title and berry_featured_box_1_title are not available in the string translation window (the other items present in the wpml-config.xml file can be seen without problem , I can see berry_instagram_title, berry_footer_text, berry_featured_box_2_title, berry_featured_box_3_title but not the other 3 strings mentioned above. I need to be able to translate all of them especially berry_featured_box_1_title.

Thank you for having a look. Regards,

Hi Mylene,

Thank you for contacting us.

To translate strings, they need to be stored in the database so that they can be displayed in the string translation window. The default strings are not stored in the database, so you need to make some changes to these strings to save the text to the database, then they will appear in the string translation window.

1. Read more button text – The default text of this button is “Read More”. Please open the WordPress customizer, then go to “General” > find “Post Read More Button Text” option and make some changes to the default text (just change it to any text and then change it back to “Read More”), then save the changes. Now the text will be stored in the database, and you can find it in the string translation window.

2. Related Title – Same as “Read More” text. Please open the customizer and go to “Post” > find “Related Posts” > find “Related Posts Title” and make changes to the title text, save the changes, then the string can be found in the string translation window.

3. Featured Box 1 Title- This is weird. If “Featured Box 2 Title” and “Featured Box 3 Title” can be found, then “Featured Box 1 Title” should also be displayed. We just checked it on our test site: the titles of the three Featured Boxes can be translated, please see this screenshot ( https://d.pr/free/i/V49K7a ). You can try changing the title text of “Feature Box 1” in the customizer, save the changes, and check if it appears in the string translation window.

-

If the problems still exist, please email the following information to general@loftocean.com so that we can provide further help:

1. Please send us your website URL.

2. Please create a temporary admin account for us and let us log into your website so we can check your site environment, theme and plugin settings.

Thank you very much.

Best regards,

The Loft.Ocean Team

Thank you very much for the quick answer. It has worked for the Read More, the Related Posts label and even also for the berry_featured_box_1. Now I can see and translate them all in the string translation window.

One last thing I’ve forgotten yesterday regarding the topic string translation is the “Back to top”. In the documentation it is written that we could translate that one as well but it is not part of the wpml-config.xml, and in the theme customization I couldn’t find any string that I can modify for this. Any idea?

Hi Mylene,

Thank you for your reply.

“Back to top” is one of the theme strings, they are strings written in the theme code. To translate these strings, please follow this guide: How to translate Berry theme. Thank you.
